TYPICAL PARANORMAL EQUIPMENT

A useful list of the type of investigation equipment that we may or may not use while on investigation. One of the best tools that we use is our own personal senses we were born with which also aids our research

Gauss EMF Meter - Baseline testing, should be done initially prior to starting investigations in order to rule out any near by electrical interference. Equipment detects electro magnetic frequencies, often associated with paranormal activity.

Laser Thermometer - Measures temperature and identifies cold spots.

Night Vision Binoculars - Won't disturb the atmosphere with torch light when using the binoculars.

Boundary Microphone - Used in conjunction with the data recorder this microphone to record sounds from all angles surrounding it.

Data Cassette Recorder - Used for EVP experiments, this is used to record during the investigation or in vigils when 'calling out' in attempt to gain a response.

Camcorders - Sony Night shot plus camera, other camcorders can be used and locked off to film active areas or focusing on a trigger object.

Walkie Talkies - Communication should be president at all times during an investigation especially when separate vigils are being conducted, to clarify any noises heard and to keep safety top priority.

Hydro Thermometer - Measures temperature and humidity.

Candles and Matches - These are essential items especially if your flashlight and equipment stop working. Some ghost hunter's believer that ghost energy can drain equipment energy and candles should be taken as a back up.

Compass - A compass is not only very useful for navigation it is also great for picking up electromagnetic forces. A compass will react to any magnetic or electrical stimulus that may be out of the ordinary. For this reason it is probably better to avoid an electronic compass instead use the needle point's north kind.

Trigger Object - This is a small object such as a coin that is placed on a piece of white paper, which in turn is placed on a table or where it will not be disturbed. A pencil circle is drawn around the coin so that its exact location is recorded. The coin and paper are then left and then re-examined at the end of the ghost hunt to see if the coin has moved. If it has, then this could indicate some strange activity. Ensure no-one can accidentally move the coin or you will obtain false results.

Motion Detectors - These devices are good for sensing movement when there should be none. One sensor can easily monitor an entire hallway or room. It is an ideal tool for indoor investigations.

Notebook - Always keep records of times and events, this is very useful for documenting the investigation and especially if the study is to be replicated. Pens and pencils are also essential.

Small Wind chimes/bells - Some researchers claim that breezes sometimes accompany ghosts. Wind chimes should be placed in areas where the ghost is thought most likely to appear and of course out of the wind or drafts. This is a simple system that can alert investigators to photograph the area.

Watch - An essential piece of equipment for recording the time when the events happen.

On a recent visit to the UK, close friend. mentor and fellow paranormal researcher Laura Kimberley, presented Ray Jorden with a 12-470 Radio Shack Hack Radio from America.

Ray has been learning and been part of many spirit commincation sessions with Laura, with a view to learn and educate people so that they one day learn how to use the 12-470 themselves.

Ray at present is researching and learning spirit comminication with the 12-470 and recording the radios sessions with amazing results which will be available on the EVP page soon.

Ray will be introducing the 12-470 on each investigation.

A writing on the 12-470 will be available to read very soon.
